Arts & Education Council Taps Coptix to Bring Arts Programs to the Web
For more than fifty years, the Arts & Education Council of Chattanooga (AEC) has provided opportunities for members of the Chattanooga community to participate in arts programs. Through the Conference on Southern Literature, school literacy outreach initiatives, the Chattanooga Festival of Writers, Culture Fest, TheatreExpress, the Back Row Film Series and Independent Film Series, Future Focus Literacy through Photography and current affairs television shows “Point of View” and “First Sunday,” the nonprofit organization instructs and delights Chattanoogans of all ages through the arts.
When the Council wanted to recreate its online presence to inform and inspire the public about opportunities to participate in their programs, they turned to Chattanooga’s leading web development and marketing company, Coptix, Inc.
"The Arts & Education Council needed an innovative company to design our web site,” said Susan Robinson, Executive Director of the AEC. “Coptix, with its creative energy and top-notch designers, fit our needs perfectly. We are sincerely grateful to Coptix for its technology and branding expertise, and in helping AEC improve its presence on the internet."
Coptix designed and built www.artsedcouncil.org to be easily navigable, featuring programs and upcoming events along with an impressive back-end content management system that helps the Council to manage all of its projects and programs. Because of Coptix’s experience with search engine optimizations, the site is not only simple and useable, it is easily found online by community members and visitors alike.
“The Arts & Education Council raises the bar for everyone in our hometown,” said Coptix Vice President Josiah Roe. “The focus, dedication and passion that the AEC exhibits is contagious, reminding us all of the value of the arts to our everyday lives. Even more, the AEC’s events and programs enable us, as Chattanoogans, to aspire to shape our city by taking part in its creative endeavors.”

Coptix Brings a Taste of St. John’s Restaurant to the Web
St. John’s Restaurant is pleased to announce the grand opening of its web site, designed and built by Chattanooga’s leading web development company, Coptix, Inc.
In a time when buzz and excitement characterize Chattanooga’s growing dining scene, Chef Daniel Lindley’s formal St. John’s and sister restaurant, the urban bistro St John’s Meeting Place, are the city’s shining stars. His innovative menus featuring top quality, locally sourced seasonal ingredients―complemented by an international wine program and served in a beautifully renovated former hotel―create a dining experience that is unique in the city and beyond. Hallmarked by top flavor, service and attention to detail, Lindley’s dishes have been celebrated by the New York Times as “superb” and prompted Southern Living to call him “a genius in the kitchen.”
The design and development team at Coptix has created an online experience that corresponds to visiting the restaurant. Using customized search engine optimization, Coptix ensures that diners are able easily to find the restaurant’s site online. Upon arrival at www.stjohnsrestaurant.com, web users find easy navigation, clean stylish design and impressive food photography. Chef Lindley’s kitchen background, the history of the space and―most importantly―the menus are simple to locate and enjoyable to browse.
“Because a restaurant’s online presence is less to bring traffic to the web site than to bring traffic the restaurant itself, we went to great lengths to capture the spirit of Chef Lindley’s culinary creations, the customer service, and the beautiful location,” said Coptix Executive Vice-President Josiah Roe. “The food photography is stunning, and the user experience is designed to take web surfers by the hand and lead them to the restaurant’s front door.”
“My goal for our website was that it give a comprehensive view of what happens at both St. John’s Restaurant and at St. John’s Meeting Place,” said Lindley. “Most importantly, that it reflect the discipline, quality and beauty that occur here on a daily basis. After extensive concept and design work, Coptix was able to achieve this goal with great success.”
